Career Day was an annual event at Forest City High School in 1982, the year Theo Boman was to graduate. The job market was full, hiring was at a stand still. But, one occupation attracted this young man, reminding him of the Christmas Eve four years earlier when his grandfather passed away. Even at a young age, Theo felt the pull to reach out to families in need during a difficult time in their life.
Experience as a college student hired by a Mason City, IA funeral home cemented his choice to pursue education in mortuary science. Theo moved to Portland, Oregon to attend Mt. Hood Community College. While attending classes and studying he was employed by a funeral home and met the secretary, Teri Morris, a native of the area. They married, he graduated and they spent one year at a funeral home in northern Washington. Theo felt the need to get back to the Midwest and to the personal touch of warm relationships while working with families.

After gaining five years of experience with Turner Funeral Home, Spirit Lake,Theo became director/manager of Memorial Funeral Home, Sioux Center, for nine years. Most recently, Theo was employed for six years at Gilbert Funeral Home, Albia.
Teri supports her husband and works along side helping in numerous ways including the making of meaningful DVD presentations for families to keep as remembrances of their loved one. In addition, Teresa has home schooled the couples five children. Elizabeth has graduated and is serving as a volunteer aboard the Africa Mercy, a hospital ship, anchored off the coast of Liberia. Barbara will graduate high school in the spring and plans to further her education. Peter, Michelle and Samuel bring helpful hands to their parents as well as to the business.
Theo and Teri are excited to bring Boman Funeral Home to Webster City. They are highly enthused to serve families as they would their very own, honoring your wishes and paying attention to your concerns.
