Alene LaVonne McCollough

Alene LaVonne McCollough, 89 of Webster City died on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, December 3, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, in Webster City. (www.bomanfh.com). Funeral Service will be on Monday, December 4, at 10:30 AM, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Michael Kroona officiating.

Alene was born on April 16, 1928, in Mitchel County Iowa, to Gerrit and Dorothy (Pike) Naber. She graduated from Marble Rock High School. She married Thyrol “Buggy” or “Mac” McCollough on January 15, 1949, in Webster City, Iowa. Alene was a homemaker and enjoyed baking and cooking. She loved her family and inspired many with her positive attitude.

Alene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City, the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed having coffee at HyVee with the morning coffee group, country western music, Iowa and Iowa State football and basketball.

Her family includes four children: Pam (Richard) Conkling of Webster City, Mark (Connie) McCollough of Eagle Grove, Kevin (Carla) McCollough of Webster City, and Nancy Denekas of Ames; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mary Holm of Mason City, IA, Lucille (Dieter) Sterzelmaier of Las Vegas, NV, and Doris (Harry) Perschbacher of Albert Lee, MN; and one brother Lowell (Nancy) Naber of Elgin, IL; two sisters-in-law: Frieda Naber of Mason City, IA and Gina Naber of Georgia; and brother-in-law Peewee Durbin of Osage, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; great-grandson Blake Tempel; five brothers: Dale, Boyd, Gary, Allen and Lynn; and one sister Donna Durbin.
