Douglas Kolbeck, 67, of Webster City died Friday - Nov 3, 2017.His memorial will be Tuesday - 2:00 pm at Asbury United Methodist Church, Webster City. Visitation one hour prior. The family has chosen Boman Funeral (www.bomanfh.com) Home to care for their needs.

Douglas James Kolbeck was born February 18, 1950, in Webster City to James and Mary (Latch) Kolbeck. Doug graduated from Webster City High School.

On July 26, 1969, he and Kathy Anne Frakes were married at the Webster City Church of Christ. He started working at Kolbeck Disposal service and eventually become a co-owner until it sold in 1979. He worked at Webster City Products from 1979 until 1992. While there, he was inspection and line foreman.

Doug was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where he worked with the youth and was a Sunday school teacher. He helped with the Boy Scouts, was a member of the Jaycees (holding various offices) and was a board member of the Webster City Day Care for five years, two of them as president. Currently, he was a member on the community board of Ecumenical Human Needs.

Kathy and Doug enjoyed dancing and camping in Iowa and “out west”. He enjoyed making craft items out of wood for Kathy to paint.

His family includes: wife Kathy of 48 years; children Misty (Matt) McKinney and Jamie (Lori) Kolbeck; grandchildren Noah & Jenna McKinney Casey & Cody Kolbeck all of Webster City; mother Mary of Boone; sister Nancy (David) Wood of Hot Springs Village, AR; mother-in-law Norma Frakes of Webster City; and brother-in-law Brent (Melissa) Frakes of Waddell, AZ. He was preceded in death by his father James.

Memorials may be made to Ecumenical Human Needs fund or Asbury youth programs.
