Angelene (Angie) Meling

Angelene (Angie) Mae Meling, 81 of Ellsworth, IA died on December 27, at the Israel Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.  Funeral service will be Wednesday December 31, at 11 AM at the Elim Lutheran Church in Randall, Iowa, Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-11 AM, burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Forest City at 3PM.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family. 
Angie was born on April 2, 1933 to Alfred and Grace (Ubben) Isvik in Williams, Iowa.  She attended school in the Jewell and Stanhope area, and then attended Waldorf College.  Angie married Melvin Meling on June 14, 1953 in Jewell Iowa, The couple resided in Forest City, IA until 1984 when they moved to Story City and then Ellsworth,iA.  Angie received her Bachelor’s Degree from Mankato State University in 1971.  Her occupations included homemaker, motel manager, teacher and librarian. 
Angie was a member of the Elim Lutheran Church and the Bethesda Lutheran Church where she was very active in the choir and a co-founder of the Church Women Ministry.  She enjoyed reading and traveling and was able to travel all over the world and to all 50 states.  She loved being with family and playing cards. 
Angie’s family includes her husband; four children:  Sherri (Brad) Ballard of Winona, MN, Dennis of Forest City, Becky (Gary) Williams of Morristown, TN, and Mark (Trisha) of Forest City, IA; 11 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren;  Brothers and Sisters:  Sterling of Kamrar, IA, Betty (Bob) Sharer of Jewell, IA, Arling of Ellsworth, IA and Shirley (John) Wilkerson of Torrence, CA.  She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; brother Donald; and sister in laws Winnifred, LeNora, and Beverly.
