Barbara Jane (Burt) Franzen

Barbara Jane (Burt) Franzen, 69, of Webster City, Died on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City after a brave and courageous fight with ovarian cancer. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, November 1st from 5-7 PM at Mac Life Church in Blairsburg, Iowa. Funeral Service will be on Friday, November 2, at 11:00 a.m. at Mac Life Church. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

Barbara was born on September 15, 1949, to Donald and Jean (McGrath) Burt in Clarion, Iowa. Barbara worked various jobs throughout her life, her favorites being a housewife and florist/decorator.

She was involved in volunteering and an active member of YSS in Webster City and Ames. Barbara touched many lives with her exceptional talents as a florist and especially a decorator. Few knew that during her brief time at UNI she was an art major, and her artistic talents were exemplary.

Barbara enjoyed traveling and spending time with her husband. Everyone that knew her knew she loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved and adored, and she loved and was loved by all her family and friends dearly.

Her family includes: her husband Lyndon Franzen; mother; two daughters: Nancy (Dorenkamp Anders) and her husband Jeff Lawrence, and Kara (Dorenkamp) and her husband Neal Van Dyke; and one son: Mark and his wife Melissa Dorenkamp; grandchildren: Brody, Davis and Aidan Anders, Courtney, Brittney, Garrett, Joe, Carson, Carter, Kennedy and Tyree Lawrence, Emma and Will VanDyke, Gavin, Hudson and Declan Dorenkamp; Brothers: Randy (Marcia) Burt, Steve Burt and Jeff Burt; and many other family members and friends who loved her. She was preceded in death by her father Don and life partner John Sterling.
