A funeral service for Jeannine Hinton was held 10:30 am Tuesday at Holmes Baptist Church. Visitation was prior to the service.  Boman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  www.bomanfh.com
Jeannine Annette Hinton, age 81, went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2012, at Clarion, Iowa.  Jeannine was born January 26, 1931, to Burdette and Mildred (Rhoads) Nelson, in Eagle Grove, Iowa.  At six months of age, she and her parents moved to Glenburn, North Dakota, where she was educated and grew to young womanhood.  She attended the Glenburn Baptist Church where her grandparents and great-grandparents were charter members.
Jeannine and her family moved to the Clarion area in June 1948.  They attended the Holmes Baptist Church where she met her husband to be – Richard J. (Jerry) Hinton.   Her family moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa, in 1949.  Jeannine accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized in October 1949.
Jerry and Jeannine were married in Holmes, Iowa on June 25, 1950.  To this union, three sons were born:  Mark (Connie), of Clarion, Iowa, Michael (Elaine) of Columbia, Missouri and Merle (Janell) of Storm Lake; Her life centered around her family and her church.  She was active in her church and served in many positions.  She enjoyed family gatherings, reading, poetry, crafts, family genealogy, needlework, and most recently had been hand-sewing teddy bears for domestic assault centers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Nathaniel Hinton; a great-grandson, Spencer Hansen; three brothers:  Burdette, Jr., Merlin, and Lyndon.  Survivors include her husband; three sons; three sisters; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
