Mary Olive Wood

Mary Olive Wood of Miami, Oklahoma formerly of Joplin, Missouri died Tuesday April 7, 2009 after an illness. She was 85.

Mrs. Wood was born May 10, 1923 in Goldfield, Iowa to Frank and Nettie (Todd) Bosworth. She was a homemaker and had worked as a school teacher for one year in Hamilton County, Iowa. She had lived in Joplin for the past 22 years moving to Miami three years ago. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Miami, Oklahoma and a member of the Martin Sunday School Class.

She Married Floyd D. Wood on July 14, 1942 in Webster City, Iwoa and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Perry Bosworth, Guy Bosworth and Ronald Bosworth.

Survivors include one set of twins: Kenneth D. Wood and wife Judy of Tonawanda, NY and Katherine Gray and husband Paul of Neosho, MO; two daughters Nancy Land and her husband Larry of East Prairie, MO and Cynthia Weece and her husband Leon of Miami, OK; her twin sister Lura Kent of Vancouver, WA; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Friday, April 10, 2009 at 10:00 am at the First Christian Church in Miami, Oklahoma and the family will receive friends from 9:00am to service time at the church. Pastor Leon Weece will officiate. Pallbearers will be grandsons. A graveside service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Cass Center Township Cemetery in Webster City, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Church of Christ in Webster City, Iowa. Services are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami, Oklahoma.
