Oriet L. Blair, 87, of Webster City, IA, died Thursday, November 24, 2011, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, IA.
Her funeral service will be Monday at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City with Rev. Dr. Michael Kroona & Rev. Tony D. Ede officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. Visitation is set for 3 – 5 PM Sunday at the church.
Oriet Lucille Morseth was born August 16, 1924 at Tyler, Minnesota, to Judy & Clarence Morseth. She grew up in Tyler and graduated from Tyler High School. She then attended nursing school at Lutheran Hospital in Watertown, SD graduating in 1945. On September 6, 1946 she married Marvin Russell Blair at First English Lutheran Church in Tyler, MN. They lived in Watertown, SD & Sleepy Eye, MN until 1957 when they moved to Webster City. She worked at the Hamilton County Hospital until 1979. Oriet was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. She belonged to the Ruth Circle. During her retirement she was a hospice volunteer and also volunteered in an elementary school classroom. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards and games. She had an opportunity to travel with friends and family while she was in good health. She touched the lives of many people.
Oriet was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, November 26, 1977, a granddaughter, Melissa K. Klinnert, her son in law, Matthew D. Peters, her parents and her two brothers Donald Morseth and Richard Morseth.
She is survived by two daughters, Jacquelin (John) Klinnert of Underwood, MN and, Virginia Peters of Perry, IA, five grandchildren – Michael Klinnert, Brent (Michelle) Klinnert, Krista (Isaiah) Godding, Jason (Natalie) Peters, Dr. Jessica Peters and nine great grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters, Margaret Weisbecker of Mankato, MN and Helen (George) Lather of Sun City, AZ, several nieces & nephews and many good friends.
