William Lee Murra

William “Bill” Lee Murra, 78 of Webster City, died Monday October 26 at the Paula Barbar Hospice House in Fort Dodge.  A memorial service will be held on Tuesday November 3 10:30 AM, at the Webster City Church of Christ.  Boman Funeral Home (www.Bomanfh.com) is serving the family.
 
William was born on December 29, 1936 to Caius and Tena (Daniels) Murra, in Franklin County Iowa.  Later the family moved southwest of Ackley into Hardin County where he attended country school through the 8th grade and then Ackley High School graduating in 1955.
 
He married Karen Raye Burgetrum on December 29, 1957 in Iowa Falls, the couple had five children, they divorced in 1982.  William later married Victoria Lee Phillips in Webster City.  Bill worked for Farmers Coop in Iowa Falls, Maudlin Construction Company of Webster City and Hamilton County as Maintenance Superintendent until his retirement in 2000.  Bill enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, sports and especially his grandchildren.
 

His family includes his wife Victoria; children:  Jeffrey (Carla) of Carlisle, Craig of Pella, Robin of Iowa City, Christine (Dave) Nessa of Webster City, and Rebecca (Doug) Myers of Minnesota; step children: Sherie (Scott) Nicholson, of Webster City, Shelly Jorgensen (fiancé Andrew Idalski) of Dallas Texas, Tim Benge of Clarion, and Michael Phillips of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brother Robert (Eileen) of Wellsburng, IA; sisters: Marva Overton of Norwalk, IA, Mary (Larry) of Norwalk, IA, Carol Sargent of Urbandale, IA and Arlis Murra of Des Moines, IA.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
