Carolee Woodard

Carolee Woodard, 79, of Webster City, Iowa died, at her home on Monday, December 25, 2023.  Visitation will be at Calvary Baptist Church in Webster City, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 10:00-10:45 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM with pastor Terry Davenport officiating.  The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

Carolee was born on May 8, 1944, in Forest City, Iowa, to Donald and Thora Clauson.  She graduated from Forest City High School in 1962, and then attended Waldorf College for two years before going to Bethel College and Seminary, graduating in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary education.    She taught Elementary school in Ventura, Iowa for one year, and then in the Webster City Community Schools for 44 years, many of those years she taught 2^nd grade.

In 1970, Carolee was united in marriage to Ronald Woodard, in Forest City, Iowa, the couple was married for 52 ½ years, Ron passed away earlier this year. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Webster City, where she taught, Bible School, Sunday School, directed choir, often sang solos and trios for church services as well as playing the piano accompaniment in evening services, she was also a member of the Women’s Missionary Fellowship.  Carolee enjoyed cooking, crocheting, sewing, doing word puzzles, and spending time with her three dogs Cotton, Huxley and Ruger.  She had a collection of Bells, that she got on vacations or as gifts from friends and family.  Carolee and Ron enjoyed going on drives in the country.  Most of all, Carolee treasured the time spent with her family.

Carolee’s family includes her two daughters: Sarah Kirkland and Jana Woodard; three grandchildren:  Tanner & Brandon Hoveland and Ashlyn Woodard; Sisters:  Donelle Mackey of Illinois, Jodi (Elmer) Wilde of Arizona; brother John Clauson of Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.
