Carolyn Goehring

Carolyn Kay Goehring, 87, of Fort Dodge, died at The Bickford of Fort Dodge on November 24, 2022.  Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Webster City on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM.  The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com)  to care for their needs.

Carolyn was born to Ralph B. and Violet L. (Chalfant) Goehring on August 1, 1935.  When Carolyn was in Stanhope High School, she played basketball and was well known for her ability to make long shots and her speed.  She graduated from Stanhope High School in 1953.  As Carolyn went through life, she excelled in sports, was very good at pool, golf and in bowling, she won 5 trophies.  Carolyn had three siblings, and in all the years they lived, not once did they say an unkind word to each other.  They showed sincere respect to each other.

Carolyn worked at Farmers State Bank in Stanhope for 11 years, and then for 36 years at the Farmers National Bank in Webster City, where she achieved the titles of V.P and Head Bookkeeper. 

Carolyn picked up the cards that life delt her and played her best hand.  She traveled many happy trails with her family to 45 states and Canada, two highlights of her trips were to go to the World’s Fair in New York City in 1964, and when in 1995, she caught a foul ball in at a Cub’s game in Des Moines.  Her favorite singer was Alan Jackson, and her favorite author was Louis L ‘Amour

Carolyn’s family includes brother Richard (Ann) Goehring of Texas; sister Clarice Coghlan of Webster City; many nieces and nephews; her 7^th dinner group, K&K dinner group and her apartment family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister-in law Robert and Margie Goehring; and brother-in-law Marlin Coghlan.
