Cheryl Katschke

It is with great sadness that we share the passing over of Cheryl Ione Blanchard (Katschke/Romp). On December 30th, 2025, at 2:03 am the Lord called her home, unexpectedly for us, but perfectly on God’s timing. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

Cheryl was born on March 23, 1947, near Rockwell City, Iowa to Loren Phillip Blanchard and Alice Almeda Blanchard. Cheryl had a love of crafting, crocheting, and a lifelong passion for learning. She found peace in her faith and completed four years of seminary education while residing in South Dakota. Cheryl found immense joy in meeting and talking to people; much of her life was filled with working in a public capacity. Her compassionate personality and giving heart never strayed her entire life. Cheryl eagerly shared her knowledge, hard work, and any material blessings at every opportunity. Her legacy of faith continues throughout her generations, as does her servant’s heart, and we will cherish the days she was with us.

Cheryl is survived by her four children: Angela Kay Murray (Peter), Barbara Ann Kaye (Billy), Michelle Lea Miller (Clint), Aaron Jerome Romp (Janet); grandchildren and (great grandchildren): Ryan Wilson (Laurie and sons Jack, Hank, Luke), Ashley Wilson (Brett and children Damion, Lilly), Benjamin Thomas (Brittany and children Brylie, Alaynah, Diem, Myla), Jay Romp (Alicia son Braden), Justin Romp, Taylor Romp (Jessi and sons Joseph, Axel), Madison Romp, Katillyn Romp (Child Scottie Jean)Tiffany Hicks (Grant daughters Ivy, Hadley), Lindsay Kaye (Trey and son Calvin), Sicily Miller, Lyon Miller, and Avignon Miller; and brothers: David Blanchard (Patricia), Leonard Blanchard (Mary).

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; her spouses: Clifford J. Romp, Ronald Katschke; Grandson Kody Romp; sisters: Rosemary Mueller (Richard), Natela Blanchard Murray (Jerry); and nephews: Frank Mueller, Doug Mueller, David Blanchard Jr., and Jimmy Blanchard.
