David Hove

David Charles Hove, 63, of Jewell, Iowa, passed away on December 5, 2025, at MercyOne Hospital in Des Moines. Visitation will be at the Community Church of Kamrar on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 9:45 – 10:45 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

David was born on September 13, 1962, in Story City, Iowa, to Charles and Doris (Conger) Hove. He grew up in the Jewell area and graduated from South Hamilton High School in 1981.

On June 26, 1982, David married the love of his life, Leah Johnson. Together they made their home in rural Jewell, where David dedicated his life to farming. He worked with hogs, cattle, and crops, and loved every aspect of farming. David was a member of the Central Iowa Coop, where he served on the board for several years. He was a past member of the Community Church of Kamrar and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Jewell.

David’s family includes his wife, Leah; and his sister, Sue (Brad) Olson of Story City. He was preceded in death by his parents.
