Dennis L. Peterson

Dennis L. Peterson,  70 of Duncombe, Iowa, passed away Friday January 2, 2015 at the Paula J Baber Hospice Home in Ft. Dodge, Iowa.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday January 6, 2015 at 11 AM at the Alden United Methodist Church, in Alden, with Pastor Gina Spohnheimer officiating.  Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 PM at Boman Funeral Home in Webster City.
Dennis was born on February 20, 1944 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Elmer and Angie (Madden) Peterson.  He graduated from the Alden High School in 1962.  He married Lindsay L. Peterson on May 18, 1996 in Homer, IA.  Dennis had various jobs over the years including:  farming, gas station manager for Pester Derby in Iowa Falls, Webster City and Alden, instructor and driver for Umthum Trucking for 30 years, driving for Decker trucking for 10 years, and at Peterson Construction.  He retired for health reasons in 2009.
Dennis was a member of the United Methodist Church, NW Iowa Cockshutt Tractor Club, numerous amateur radio clubs, Iowa Falls Ski Club, and a “ROMEO” member of Mission Garden Resort in Mission, TX.  He enjoyed camping, roller skating, fishing, boating, water skiing, and swimming.
His family includes: wife; children:  Tony, Alan, Denise, Kevin, Arlan, Michael and Scotti, and their spouses; Step Children: Angela and Amber; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Memorials may be designated to the American Cancer Society or the Paula J Baber Hospice Home.
