Don Griffith

Don Griffith, 88, of Webster City, IA died on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Webster City. Private family services will be held at a later date, with interment in the Harris Grove Cemetery in Logan, IA. The family has entrusted Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) with arrangements.

Don Henry Griffith was born at the family residence in Woodbine, Iowa, on November 14, 1936. Don was the son of Ralph and Gertrude (Hardman) Griffith. He graduated from Logan High School and then entered the US Navy in 1954. On October 28, 1956, Don married LaVonne Heim. Following his Navy service, Don completed his Tool and Die apprenticeship and began his career with Western Electric in Omaha, Nebraska. Over the years, he worked for several companies including Stormor in Fremont, Nebraska; HON in Muscatine, Iowa; and Omega Cabinets in Waterloo, Iowa, before retiring to Webster City.

Don’s family includes his wife LaVonne; two children: Mike (Susan) Griffith of Webster City, and Juli (Dennis) Engelsman of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren: Kelsey, Hailey, Alec (Rosella) and Paige; and great-grandchildren: Piper, Mila, Sofia and Jayden. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Gary Griffith.
