Doris Abbas

Doris Abbas died on Monday, April 10, 2017. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on, Friday, April 14, at Harvest Baptist Church in Ft. Dodge. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, April 13, at Boman Funeral Home in Webster City, from 5-7 PM. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.Bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

Doris Marie was born on October 7, 1949, in Webster City to Francis “Dean” and Doris L. (Graves) Helton. She graduated from the Webster City High School in 1968 and then from Iowa Central Community College. She then attended the University of Northern Iowa graduating with a B.A. in Elementary Education. Doris was a teacher in the Webster City school district for over 30 years.

Doris was united in marriage to Larry Abbas on March 31, 1972, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Webster City. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and loving on her grandchildren. Doris was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Fort Dodge.


Doris’ family includes: Her husband of 45 years; sons: Brett (Jessica) and Bryce (Allison); grandchildren: Zachary, Gabrielle, Payton and Reagan; her mother; six brothers; and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her father. Memorials will be directed to the American Cancer Society.
