James “Jim” Hutchinson, 89, of Webster City, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Windsor Manor Assisted Living in Webster City. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 14, also at Trinity Lutheran Church. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

Jim was born on August 30, 1936, in Lake City, Iowa, to Charles and Margaret (McCalley) Hutchinson. He graduated from Lehigh High School in 1955 and went on to work for a local farmer, Calvin Hoover, for three years.

In 1959, Jim married Rita Beaudrow, and the couple made their home on a farm south of Duncombe. Together they had three daughters: Carol Sue, Shelia Rae, and Marcia Ione. Jim began working for Morton Frozen Foods in 1957, where he served as a lead cook for ten years. In 1961, the family moved to Webster City, first renting a home on Third Street before purchasing their first house at 500 Boone Street, which Jim proudly bought with a $1,000 down payment.

On August 24, 1967, Jim began his long career with the City of Webster City Street Department, where he worked faithfully until his retirement in August 1997. Even after retiring, he returned to work part-time, continuing to lend a hand where needed.

Jim and Rita later divorced in 1971. In the summer of 1972, he met Linda Vosberg, and the two were married on June 16, 1973, they had daughter Jodi Ranae.

Jim was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially playing table games and cards, and took great joy in being “Grandpa” to many children.

Jim is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters Carol Nichols, Shelia (Kent) Delzell, Marcia (Kris) Hill, and Jodi Hutchinson; grandchildren: Sidney Nichols, MacKenzie Delaney, Jessica (MJ) Stickling, Joshua Hill, Tyler Hill, Brandon Mortimer, Brandon Harms, Ethan Harms and Carter Harms; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret Hutchinson; sister Pat Smith; and brothers Jack Hutchinson and Merlin Hutchinson.
