Johnnie Robinson, 86, of Webster City, died on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Johnnie is under the care of Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com)in Webster City, IA; and Turrentine Jackson Morrow (www.tjmfuneral.com)in Leonard, TX. Services will be held at the Leonard, TX cemetery on July 19th, 2025, at 10:00 am all are welcome to attend.

Johnnie was born on November 19, 1938, in The Junction, Louisiana, to Carroll and Gladys (Whittaker) Robinson. He entered the U.S. Army in 1961 during the Korean conflict and later served in the Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1967.

Johnnie met Barbara Wood, while in Maryville, Louisiana. He took Barbara back to Liberty, Texas with him and not long after. Together they had two children, a daughter Tera Jean and a son, Johnnie Jr. Over the years they lived in Liberty, TX, Derider, LA, Lake Charles, LA, Celeste, TX, and Greenville, TX, before finally settling in Cushing, TX.

Johnnie was a hardworking man who did many jobs over the years—from farming with his family to working in the oil fields. After a back injury ended his time there, he went on to own and operate his own cattle ranch, where he found his true calling.

Johnnie found great joy in the simple pleasures of country life. He loved spending time on his ranch, especially fishing for catfish in the pond—a favorite pastime that brought him both peace and pride. A natural caretaker, Johnnie had a deep affection for animals and always made sure they were well looked after. But more than anything, Johnnie enjoyed being by Barbara’s side—whether that meant helping in the garden, tagging along to Bingo, or joining her in volunteer work. Wherever Barbara was, Johnnie was never far behind, content just to be part of whatever she was doing. Their love and partnership were the center of his world. The couple loved to travel the county in their RV and visit family and friends along the way.

Johnnie’s family includes his son Johnnie (Theresa) Robinson, of Fort Dodge, Iowa; siblings: Robert (Phyliss) Robinson, Lettie Coolie; Frank Robinson, and Sue Singletary. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2024, daughter Tera Jean, and brother Winfree Robinson.
