Lawrence Van Hauen, 76, of Webster City died Friday at home. His visitation will be held Tuesday 5-7 pm at Boman Funeral Home in Webster City. A celebration of life service will be Wednesday 11 Am at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Lawrence was born on January 12, 1937 to Menno and Henreitta (Johnson) VanHauen in Parkersburg, Iowa. He married Sandra K Weber on May 1, 1960 at the Methodist Church in Grundy Center Iowa. Lawrence was self- employed as a farmer and a contractor living in Iowa Falls from 1960-1969, then in Webster City.
He was a member of the Amvets and the Moose. Lawrence enjoyed gardening with friends, watching and feeding birds, hunting, fishing and watching football. He especially enjoyed being part of his grandchildren’s life.
His family includes: his wife Sandy; two sons: Troy (Michelle), of Edwardsville, ILL, and Brenton (Kristin) of Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren: Alex, Ana and Christopher of Edwardsville, ILL and Leo and Vada of Des Moines, Iowa; sisters: Sylvia (Bob) Walker of Elk Run Heights, Iowa and Dennise Van Hauen of Waterloo, IA; brother Ronnie (Laurie) Van Hauen of Milaca, MN; sisters- in-Law: Pat Frerichs of Iowa Falls, Iowa and Elaine (Marv) Doty of Sugargrove, ILL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Carol Jean.
