Lorna K. Hack 74, of Webster City died on Tuesday March 15, at the Van Diest Medical Center, in Webster City. A graveside service will be held, Saturday August 13 at 11 AM at the Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.Bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.
Lorna was born on April 14, 1941 and adopted by William and Blanch Schmaker. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1959, and Allen Hospital Nurses training in 1962. Lorna married Wendell Floyde Hack (whom she met on a blind date) on May 20, 1961 in Evansdale, Iowa. After their marriage she worked for four years at Mercy Hospital. She has also worked as a nurse at Golden age Nursing Home, Southfield Wellness Community, Crestview Nursing & Rehabilitation, and the Hamilton County Public Hospital, retiring in 2004.
She enjoyed reading books, watching news program, and Sports especially ISU and Iowa Basketball and football. Her greatest pleasure was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lorna’s family includes her husband of 55 years: 4 children: Chris (Eric Gladwin) Hack of Pensicola, FL, Laurie Brown of Bixby, OK, Julie Watts of Webster City and David Hack of Webster City; 7 grandchildren: Rachel, Michael, Sarah, Anna, Jon, Alicia, and Abby; 6 great grandbabies; four sisters: Wanetta Lester, Deloris LeBlanc, Sandra Bean and Barbara Ramio; four brothers: Don Ekquist, Loren Ekquist, Charley Bean and Jimmy Bean.
She was preceded in death by: son-in-law Mark Watts; two sisters: Delpha and Charlene; and five brothers Dorn, Dyrus Bernard, Richard and Heston.
