Melissa Thede

Melissa Ann Thede, 40, of Churdan, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in Sioux City, Iowa.  Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Gospel Open Bible Church in Jefferson, Iowa.  Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Gospel Open Bible Church in Jefferson, Iowa.  The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

Melissa was born on May 14, 1983, in Odessa, Texas to Daniel and Pamela (Keller) Morrell.  She married Jay Thede on October 4, 2020, in Jefferson, Iowa.  In addition to raising and caring for her family, Melissa worked at Bett and Bev’s BBQ, in Jefferson.  She was a member of The Christian Motorcyclists Association, Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, and the Gospel Open Bible Church in Jefferson, Iowa.

Melissa loved Jesus, Helping people, and spending time with family and friends.  She also enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, exploring caves, and playing at the lake.  Melissa would play the piano often, especially in the morning, she also liked listening to music, and could often be found reading her Bible or non-fiction books.

Melissa’s family includes her husband Jay; children: Skyler Sanem, Jacob Thede, Arianna Thede, and Jaxson Thede; stepsons:  Joseph (Alexis) Thede and Jonathan (Casey) Thede; grandson Jaden Thede; father Daniel Morrell; mother Pamela Desbien-Keller; brothers:  David Morrell, and Wolff (Amie) Loria; and sister Tanna Desbien.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents Karl and Rita Keller.
