Noel Singer

Noel Dennis Singer, 86, of Webster City, died on Monday, September 21, 2026. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:00-10:45 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

Born in December 1939 to Anton "Tony" and Rosa Singer, Noel grew up alongside his sisters, Bonnie and Carol, on the family farm. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Webster City, a foundation of faith that guided him throughout his life. After graduating from Blairsburg #9 country school, Webster City High School, and Webster City Junior College, Noel continued his education at Iowa State University, and then USAF Officer Training School, and navigator training.

Noel proudly served in the United States Air Force. For four years, he flew C-135 aircraft out of McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. Upon his honorable discharge in early 1967, Noel returned to his roots to farm the family land—the very same place purchased by his great-grandfather in 1892.

It was during the summer of 1967 that Noel was introduced to the love of his life, Linda Hoversten. Despite the distance while Linda was teaching in Bloomington, Minnesota, the pair courted and were united in marriage in December 1968.

Noel was a proud and loving father to three children: Jason, Karla, and Keith. He took great joy in watching his children grow, start families of their own, and pass down the values he held dear. A faithful member of his church community, Noel was deeply grateful for the blessings in his life. He was also dedicated to serving those around him as a member of the Lions Club, the Blairsburg Township Clerk, as a volunteer with YSS (Youth and Shelter Services) and as a driver for Meals on Wheels. Beyond his community work, Noel enjoyed car racing, riding motorcycles, and attending bluegrass music festivals.

Noel’s family includes his beloved wife, Linda; children: Jason (Catherine) Singer, Karla (Todd) Reiland, and Keith (Nikki Allen) Singer; grandchildren: Noah, Calliandra, Jack, William, Elena, Alison, Jonah, and Soren; and sister Carol Lemon. He was preceded in death by his parents Tony and Rosa Singer; sister Bonnie Hoversten; and Brother’s-in-law Harold Hoversten and Curt Lemon.
