Raymond LeRoy Johnson, 49, of Kamrar, Iowa, died at his home on Sunday, February 11, 2018. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, February 18, from 2:30 – 4:30 PM at Boman Funeral Home, Webster City. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 19 at the Kamrar Community Church, Kamrar, Iowa. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.
Raymond was born on September 13, 1968, in Story City, Iowa to LeRoy and Gale (Brock) Johnson. He attended NE Hamilton Schools and was active in Band, Baseball, and Football. He graduated in 1988.
He married Tammy Vinchattle in 1996 in Stratford, Iowa. The couple had two children, Colter and Cheyenne, they were his pride and joy. Raymond worked at Stanhope Locker for many years. When the locker was sold he worked at Beams in Webster City until it closed. He then returned to work at the Stanhope Locker, where he was well known for his beef jerky.
Raymond enjoyed riding horses, camping on the Boone River and being the head meat smoker for the horse camp. He also coached the sports his kids were involved in. Raymond was an outdoorsman and enjoyed activities like hunting, fishing, trapping, and team roping. Most of all he loved his family and tight-knit group of friends. Ray was a friend to all with a heart of gold.
Raymonds family includes: son Colter of Webster City; daughter Cheyenne of Webster City; parents LeRoy and Gale Johnson of Kamrar; sisters Beth (Terry) Klaver of Kamrar and LeAnn (Todd) Timm of Blairsburg; brother Rory (Lynde) Johnson of Stanhope; six nieces and nephews; and five great-nieces and nephews.
