Richard “Dick” Orville Trueblood, 96, son of Durward and Eileen (Lang) Trueblood was born on November 30, 1929, on a farm south of Lehigh, Iowa. He was the oldest of five siblings: Wyetta, Rhea, Keith and Marvin. Dick attended and graduated from Lehigh Schools in 1947. He was president of his class of 12.
Dick married Patricia Johnson his forever love on November 2, 1950, at the First Presbyterian Church, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. They were blessed with four children, Judith, Mark, Terry and Sue.
As a young man he delivered coal before school. Dick had a variety of jobs including driving truck, hauling milk, bread and grain. He and Pat were owners of Jiffy Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning in Webster city, Iowa. They retired in 1993 after 33 years of business. Dick enlisted in the US Army, honorably serving in the Korean Conflict from 1950-1951. He was part of the 439th Engineering Battalion, rebuilding bridges and roads.
Special memories were made camping and boating at Twin Lakes, Black Hawk Lake and Clear Lake. Dick and Pat spent numerous winters in Arizona with family and friends. Dick used his many skills renovating most of the homes they lived in. He enjoyed driving his 1963 Galaxy convertible, several T-Birds and R.V’s. A favorite pastime of Dick’s was reading western books and watching western movies. He so cherished family time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dick is survived by his wife Pat of over 75 years; children: Mark (Sara) Trueblood, Terry (Melody) Trueblood, and Sue (Denny) Helton; his precious eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Judith Faith; parents Durward and Eileen; and sister Wyetta Devilbiss
