Burial will then take place at the Blairsburg Cemetery.
Dick was born on January 28, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was the son of Margaret and Morris Williams. Dick graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1959. On December 9, 1961, he married Patricia Rogers and together they built a life centered on love, faith, family and hard work.
Dick will be remembered for his kindness, strong character, quick wit, and unwavering willingness to help anyone and everyone in any way he could. His greatest joy in life was his family. He especially treasured his grandchildren and played an important role in their lives. In his later years, he found immense happiness in spending time with his great-grandchildren, cherishing every visit and the special moments they shared.
Dick dedicated more than 40 years to the Blairsburg Farmers Coop, where he proudly served as general manager. He genuinely enjoyed the friendships he built with the farmers who stopped by the Coop each day. An animal lover, Dick had a special fondness for the horses, ponies, and dogs that were part of his life over the years. He also loved fishing and made many memorable trips with family and friends to favorite fishing destinations.
Gifted with his hands, Dick could build just about anything. He especially enjoyed crafting birdhouses and bird feeders, which he generously shared with family, friends, and neighbors. A faithful member of Blairsburg United Church of Christ, he served on numerous boards and committees throughout the years. He was also a proud member of the Blairsburg Lions Club, where he continued his lifelong commitment to serving his community.
He is survived by his wife Pat, son Todd Williams (Heidi Courtright) of Cherokee and daughter Tonya (Kelly) Nicholson of Dike. Grandchildren include Seth (Rebecca) Nicholson, Zach (Jenni) Nicholson, Lindsay (Britton) Delperdang, Amber (Weston) Shupe, and Kayla Daniel. Great grandchildren are Nyla and Brecken Delperdang, Brielle Nicholson, Alayna and Maddy Shupe and Maci Daniel.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Caleb Williams. Also preceding him were his parents and 5 siblings.
Dick’s love, wisdom and strength will continue to live on through those who were blessed to know him. His life was a blessing, and he will be deeply missed by all who loved him
