Robert Eugene Smith

Robert “Bob” Eugene Smith died on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at his home.  The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday from 5-7 PM at 1st Baptist Church in Webster City.  The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 8 at 11 AM at 1st Baptist Church, with Patrick Wiedemeier officiating.  The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.Bomanfh.com) to care for their needs. 






Bob was born on February 16, 1971, in Fort Dodge Iowa to Thomas and Dorothy (Myers) Smith.  He graduated from the Webster City High School in 1989.  After graduation, he worked at Handi-Klasp and then Seneca Foundry.  He married Victoria Mack on June 13, 1992, in Plainview, MN.  He started working as a Public Works Technician with the Webster City Street Department in 2001.   











Bob was a longtime member of the Webster City Fire Department, and was always caring and helping people; everyone knew they were always welcome in his house.  He was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Bears.  Bob was an avid Outdoorsman and enjoyed boating in Okoboji, hunting and fishing.  He also built and raced Econo Stock Cars.




Bob’s family includes:  two daughters:  Kortney Smith and Kelsie Smith and their mother Vicki Mack all of Rochester, MN; parents Thomas and Dorothy Smith of Webster City; brother Dan (and his wife Dani) Smith and their children Riley and Jessica of Ankeny, IA; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
