RoseMary K. (Joblinske) Schoolcraft, 89 of Forest City, Iowa passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Mercy One North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.  

The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00-7:00 PM, on Friday, January 26, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Forest City.  Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 27, at First Baptist Church.  The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

 

RoseMary was born in Ree Heights, South Dakota, on November 8, 1934, to Friedrich and Marie (McCool) Joblinske. She attended school at East High in Waterloo, Iowa. 

 

RoseMary met the love of her life Edgar Schoolcraft in 1959 while working at Rath Packing Company. Excited to start their new life together, the two were married on August 31st, 1962, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. RoseMary was a homemaker and worked at Sears and JCPenney in Waterloo and in Stitchcraft at Winnebago Industries, in Forest City. 

 

RoseMary was a Sunday school teacher and active with bible school at First Wesleyan Church in Waterloo and helped with the nursery at First Baptist Church.  The family finds comfort in knowing RoseMary has joined her Lord and Savior.

 

RoseMary was a wonderful mother, who was always there when we needed her.  The family enjoyed many family camping trips. RoseMary loved spending time with her family and her little fur baby Mitsy and cherished her role as a grandmother. She had a special bond and devotion to her grandkids and great-grandkids, she loved being their GiGi.   RoseMary and Edgar spent many years in their retirement traveling to their winter home in Apache Junction, AZ, where they made many good friends.

 

When she wasn't focused on her family or volunteering commitments, RoseMary enjoyed various hobbies and interests, including watching golf or tennis matches on television, losing herself in the pages of numerous books, and spending relaxing evenings watching Hallmark movies and game shows.

 

RoseMary is survived by her loving husband, Edgar Schoolcraft of 61 years; her children: Daniel Schoolcraft, Florida, Bradley Schoolcraft, Buffalo Center, IA, Tina (Scott) Willger, Waukon, IA, Sarah (Seandell) Carter Sr, New Hope, MN, and Tammy West (Stephen Bartleson), Lake Mills, IA; son-in-law Kerry Ellquist, Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren: Matt(Casandra) Ellquist, Cloquet, MN, Drew Ellquist, Duluth, MN, Dominique Smith, St. Paul, MN, Jasmine Smith, Ellenwood, GA,  Ashley (Cole) Phillips, Forest City, IA, Terence (Natalie Moore) West, Forest City, IA, Nikki, Seandell Carter Jr, New Hope, MN, and Kiara Carter, New Hope, MN; and great-grandchildren, ZaKia, Alaycia, Chloe, Lucy, Rhea, Lyra, Dakota, and Sean.  


RoseMary was preceded in death by her parents; sister Elizabeth VanErem; brothers: Earldean, William, Larry, and Duane; daughter Kimberly Ellquist; and son-in-law Jon West.   

 

Memorials given will be directed to the Gideon’s International.
