Shawn Cole

Shawn Robert Cole, 57, of Nevada, Iowa, passed away peacefully on February 3rd, 2026. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to assist with their needs, and no services are planned at this time.

Shawn was born on February 28th, 1968, in Cambridge, Minnesota. He was the son of Rebecca (Link) and Clyde Cole. He graduated from South Hamilton High School in 1986. After high school, Shawn went to Iowa State and then became a plumber. Later, he went on to work for the City of Nevada for many years and then worked for the City of Ames.

Shawn had a huge love for his family, friends, biking, the Iowa State Cyclones, and the Minnesota Vikings. He loved going on RAGBRAI with Team NAD, which he had done for over 25 years. He made lots of friends through RAGBRAI and on the many different bike rides he went on. Shawn loved the Iowa State Cyclones. He always had season tickets to various sports and could always be found tailgating with Team NAD. Most of all, Shawn cherished spending time with family, especially his nieces and nephew.

Shawn is survived by his father, Clyde Cole of Jewell, Iowa; sister, Jennifer (Scott) Heithoff of Roland, Iowa; two nieces: Olivia and Stella Heithoff; and one nephew, Tyler Heithoff. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Cole.

Shawn (Isaac), we will see you again at the first bar on the left. Until then, we will miss you greatly, forever. ❤️💛
