Thomas “Tom” Nixon, 76, of Williams, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025. Family and friends are asked to gather at 3:00 PM at Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com). for the processional to Williams Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at 4:00 PM at The Red Barn Shelter at Briggs Woods in Webster City.
Tom was born on November 21, 1948, to Ervin and Irma (Ellison) Nixon. He graduated from Northeast Hamilton High School in 1967. He worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation in road maintenance until his retirement.
On September 7, 1968, Tom was united in marriage to Diane Kessel. To this union two children, Brent and Sunde, were born.
Tom was a devoted father who rarely missed his children’s school activities. He especially enjoyed golfing at local courses with his brothers, sharing laughs and good company. He loved visiting with friends over a beer, always ready with a quick wit and a story to tell. Tom could often be found lending a hand to farmers with field work, something he looked forward to each fall.
He is survived by his spouse of 30 years, Rhonda; children: Brent (Amy) Nixon of Webster City and their son Cael, Sunde (Shawn) Sullivan of Coon Rapids, MN, Jake Pruismann of Williams, IA, and Avis (Adam) Pruismann of Williams and their daughter Joetta Schnell; siblings: Ron of Jonesboro, AR, , Shirley Crosser of Steamboat Rock, IA, Dick of Santee, CA, Janet Grandgeorge of Webster City, IA and Clara Robb of Des Moines, IA; as well as many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Melvin. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
