Vivian Jean Heiden, 87, of Williams, IA, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Hamilton Hospital in Webster City, under the care of Hamilton County Public Health & Hospice.
The visitation will be Friday February 26, 2010 from 2:00 – 7:30 PM with the family present from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at Boman Funeral Home Webster City. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:30 PM at Vernon Lutheran Church in rural Dows with Pastor Glenn Kappelmann officiating. Burial will be at Vernon Township Cemetery in Wright County.
Vivian was born September 22, 1922 to Lloyd & Olive Lauer Sweedler in Williams Township of Hamilton County. She graduated from Williams Number Three Rural School & Williams High School, class of 1940.
Vivian married Herbert Otto Heiden on March 12, 1950 at her parents’ home. She was a member of the Williams Methodist Church, until she joined the Vernon Lutheran Church, after her marriage to Herbert. Thru the years Vivian served on the VLC council as president, secretary & treasurer. She was very active in the VLCW. Vivian was a homemaker & enjoyed cooking, gardening & chickens. She was a member of the Thursday Tea Club.
Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law Roger & Janice Kay Patten Heiden of Williams, brother & sister-in-law Kenneth & Arlene Sweedler of Williams, sister-in-law Doris Heiden of Alden, IA and many nieces & nephews. Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
