Wendi Boyd-Strunk

Wendi Jean Boyd-Strunk, 54, of Webster City, was reunited with her husband feeding the raccoons in heaven, on Friday, February 16, 2024.  Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com). Wendi was born on February 17, 1969, to Kenneth and Carol (Wilkinson) Gisch.  She graduated from Humbolt High School in 1987. She realized her passion for helping others while working as a police dispatcher and decided to return to school. In 2007 she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing and went on to become a Registered Nurse. She spent the next 17 years relentlessly advocating for others and providing high-quality personalized care. 

Wendi met the love of her life “by accident” when Ken Strunk was the assigned insurance adjuster on her fender bender. They tied the knot on February 7^th, 1998, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Together they enjoyed garage sale-ing, hunting for asparagus, feeding the wildlife around their home (raccoons, squirrels, deer, and birds), going “leafing,” and road trips to look at Christmas lights. She cherished lunch dates with her friends and coworkers, morning coffees, all things crafty, and spending time with her fur babies: Charlie (Chuck), Grayson (Gray Cat), and Cashmere (Cash).

Wendi is survived by her daughter Catie (Jorden) Boyd; stepsons: Adam (Jessica) Strunk, and Brandon Strunk; grandchildren; and fur babies.
