William "Bill" Fielder

 

William Fielder, 82, of New Prague, Minnesota, formerly of Webster City, Iowa, died on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, MN.  A visitation will be held at Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com), in Webster City, IA,  on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. 

 

He was born on October 25, 1940, in Webster City, Iowa, to Thomas Earl and Katie (Beisner) Fielder.  He attended the Webster City Community Schools, graduating in 1958.  On December 3, 1961, he was united in marriage to Diana Kay Janes at the Williams United Methodist Church

 

Bill was a dedicated farmer and had a fulfilling career that included working as a bus driver and part-time custodian for Webster City Community Schools, as well as various roles in several propane businesses such as Ferrellgas and Prairie Land Cooperative. He also worked in sales and collections for Central Iowa Building Supply.

Bill found joy in a variety of hobbies and interests. He took pleasure in playing cards with friends and family and had a passion for creating and selling wrought iron creations. Engaging in word search books provided him with intellectual stimulation and relaxation. Bill was an avid supporter of local events such as the Hamilton County Fair and the Hamilton County Speedway. Above all else, he found immense pride in watching his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and activities. 



Bill’s family includes:  wife Diana; children:  Mark (Melodi) Fielder of Webster City, IA and Lisa (Steve) Schwartzkopf of New Prague, MN. grandchildren: Brok Schwartzkopf of East Hampton, CT; Dylan (Morgan) Fielder of Webster City, IA; Quinn Schwartzkopf of Fargo, ND; Drew (Ashley Flaws) Fielder of West Des Moines, IA; and Reid Schwartzkopf of New Prague, MN; great-grandchildren: Beau and Bodi Fielder; sisters Trudy Larson of Webster City and Grace Copher of Bentonville, AR;  and sister-in-law Lorraine Fielder of Webster City, IA   He was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents Will and Grace Fielder; step-grandmother Daisy Fielder; maternal grandparents Fred and Tressa Beisner; brother Harold Fielder; brother-in-law Rod Larson; and mother and father-in-law Helen and Jim Janes.
